With Child Safe parents can set time limits, including when and how long a user may utilize specific programs or access the Internet. This program can also create comprehensive reports of computer activity, so parents can know what sites their children visited and when, as well as what programs they used. These reports can be emailed to parents daily, weekly or monthly. This program can also restrict kids from changing Windows system settings; it can block children from the control panel, network controls, taskbar and start menu properties and more. This software will work with the Vista operating system as well as XP. The program runs quietly in the background and is inaccessible to anyone without the right passwords. Though this program works well as a parental control program, it does not have as many filtering features as some of the higher ranked programs. This software filters by URL, category and keyword, which may not be enough to block everything.
