Mason Fruit Canning Jar 18 Genuine Metal Glass Boyd Lid Estate find! From an estate sale near "old downtown" Charleston, SC. Green/Aqua No. 18 Mason's Patent, Nov. 30th 1858, (with raised square like jar inside circle), fruit canning jar with Boyd lid. Lid has metal (zinc) outside with white milk glass inside the top of lid. Jar measures approximately 7 1/2 inches in height, approximately 3 1/2 inches diameter, and approximately 2 1/2 inches mouth width. Underside jar marked: "18". Inside cap reads: "Genuine Boyd's Cap For Mason Jar 18". Condition: Very good vintage, pre-owned condition. Rough inside edge, fleabite; glass has some discoloration near the mouth and a few tiny internal air bubbles are present, some zinc corrosion on top of lid.
